Imtiaz Ali on Jab We Met sequel amid Shahid-Kareena reunion
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has reacted to their reunion and shared his thoughts on growing interest in the sequel of Jab We Met. Speaking to PTI, he said, “Actually, I find it very interesting that Shahid and Kareena met up in IIFA and people are talking to me about ‘Jab We Met’. Shahid has said that he thinks that I have moved on, but I think that everybody has moved on. It’s been a long time since Jab We Met. I think we should savour that and we should not spoil it by coming up with a sequel at all.”
“I’m not really planning a movie with Shahid and Kareena per se, but it’s great that they met and they’re both very fantastic actors. I obviously had the greatest time working with both of them,” he added.
When Shahid spoke about reunion with Kareena
Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, once the It couple of B-town, had a sweet little reunion at the IIFA 2025 press conference. The ex-lovebirds were spotted sharing a warm hug, exchanging smiles, and having a quick chat. The reunion instantly took fans on a nostalgic trip and they demanded and reminisced ‘Jab We Met’ moments. Even Shahid had reacted to the moment on green carpet. He had said, “For us, it’s nothing new… aaj stage pe mile aur hum log idhar udhar milte rehte hai (today we met on stage, but we keep running into each other here and there). It’s totally normal for us… if people felt nice, it’s nice.”
On the work front, Shahid will next be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Arjun Ustara with Triptii Dimri. He also has Vashu Bhagnani’s Ashwatthama The Saga Continues in his pipeline. This year, he was seen in Roshan Andrew’s Deva with Pooja Hegde.
