What are your feelings post the release of Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story ?
I feel very grateful that I have my first film out. And I never thought that I would ever be in film. So it’s like double gratitude for me to feel like I have my first film out. And also, I wrote a song for the film. So that is also something that brings me a lot of joy. Yeah, but it still also doesn’t kind of feel real, you know, that I have a film out and I’m an actor and people are watching me on screen. But overall, I just feel it’s a very, very wholesome feeling.
You’re also a musician, so what made you give acting a shot?
You know, I think the reason that I didn’t give acting a shot when I was younger was because I was so shy and insecure. But then I kind of grew up and grew out of that. And I realized that that shyness wasn’t something that was inherently part of me, but maybe something I had developed. At the same time, I developed a curiosity for acting. Then I got this call for this audition. And I ended up having so much fun doing the audition. Even though I didn’t get it, it didn’t work out. But while doing the audition, I was like, wait, I’m really enjoying this. Like I got that same feeling that I get when I’m creating music or something. And then even though I didn’t get the audition for the web series that Kunal was directing, he kept me in mind. And he approached me with another story. And yeah, I said yes to it. And that’s that. Even through the process of filming, you know, it was my first time on set, I knew nothing about being an actor. But through the process of filming Bobby Aur Rishi, I like completely and utterly fell in love with acting.
Will you be a part of Shekhar Kapur’s Masoom sequel?

So, you have a special bond with your father personally, but how different is your bond going to be professionally?
Well, we’ve done a music video before, but in a film, yeah, this will be the first time. I think it’s really funny, because in our personal dynamic, I’m the one who bosses him around. And then professionally, now I’m going to have to listen to him. And he’s going to be the one telling me what to do. I think that’s going to be really entertaining. But yeah, he knows me so well. I know he knows how to bring out the best performance from me. My parents were the first people that ever said that you should try acting, even though I was so against it, because I was so shy, I guess they saw something in me which I wasn’t able to see at that age. It’s a very exciting time in my life. And I hope I do a good job. And yeah, I hope I have fun with the press and on set.
How was it working with your co-star Vardhan Puri in Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story?
Vardhan is the best. He’s the most supportive, empathetic person ever. I couldn’t have had a better first co-star. I didn’t have a team or anything with me. So whenever I was not okay, I would turn to him. So he really was my support system on set. And we became best friends. We are best friends. He’s the closest person to me. And he’s such a generous actor as well.
