1. Protein treatment with honey and yogurt

  • Add three teaspoons of honey to half a cup of yogurt and mix well.
  • Apply it on your hair, especially the roots and tips, and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  • Wash your hair with water and a mild shampoo.

2. Protein treatment with wheat germ

  • Take one ripe banana, one ripe avocado, one tablespoon of wheat germ oil, and one teaspoon rose oil.
  • Mash the avocado and banana well. Add the oils to the mashed avocado and banana, and mix well.
  • Apply this mixture to your hair and let it stay on your locks for an hour then shampoo your hair.

Even though protein treatments are good for hair, they should be done with caution. If done excessively, it can make your hair dry and brittle, says the expert. You can go for a this treatment once every four to six weeks if you have natural hair with mild damage. Those with curly hair can go for this treatment once every two to three weeks.
